SPIRITUAL COMMUNION.-Adorable Jesus, I firmly believe that thou art really present in the Most Blessed Sacrament. I love thee above all things, and desire with all the fervour of my soul to receive thee. But since I cannot now receive thee sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my soul. I unite myself to thee, as if thou wert truly within me. O never suffer me

to go away from thee.

(Here also recite the "Anima Christi." Page 52.)

EJACULATÓRY PRAYER.- -"O my Jesus! grant that I may love thee, and for no other reward than that I may love thee more and more." (St. Ignatius.)

PRAYER TO MARY IMMACULATE.

I BELIEVE in and confess thy Immaculate Conception, O most holy Virgin ! By thy virginal purity, by this thy Immaculate Conception, and by thy glorious title of Mother of God, obtain for me of thy dear Son, humility, charity, obedience, a great purity of heart, of body, and of soul, perseverance in good, the gift

of prayer, a good life, and a happy death. Amen.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.

JESUS IN THE BLESSED SACRAMENT: OUR WAY AND OUR LIFE.

My loving Jesus! thou knowest well how to gain the hearts of men by thy engaging love. Draw then my heart closely to thine, for I desire ardently to love thee, and to live the servant of thy love. Henceforward I place all my hopes, my interests, and my affections in thy loving heart. Be pleased to accept and to dispose of me and mine as thou seest best; I will never more complain of the dispositions of thy Providence; for I know that all thou orderest in my regard will be in thy mercy, and for my greater good. Thy holy will is sufficient for me, and I desire nothing else, either in time or eternity.

JESUS IN THE BLESSED EUCHARIST :

MODEL OF PATIENCE.

O MY Jesus! thy charity for men has been such that thou wouldst not leave them, but must dwell within the tabernacle patiently waiting for them till they should come to visit thee: why have I lost so many years by spending them without loving thee? O infinite patience of my God! I thank thee for having borne with me during all this time that I have been ungrateful to thee. Never again will I forsake thee, but I will consecrate the remainder of my life to thy service. Thou hast been merciful to me when I went away from thee; thou canst not then refuse to receive me with loving mercy, when I return to thee. O my God, I love thee with all my heart, and my earnest wish is to persevere in thy love and thy service.

EJACULATORY PRAYER. "Indeed the Lord is in this place, and I knew it not." (Gen. xxviii. 16.)

Prayer to Mary Immaculate. (Page 150.)

JESUS IN THE BLESSED EUCHARIST:
MODEL OF OBEDIENCE.

O MOST amiable Jesus! I would gladly give to thee, were it possible for me to do so, as much honour and glory as thou, by thy obedience to man in this Sacrament, givest to thy Eternal Father. Enlighten, O Jesus, all those hearts which know thee not, that they may see and acknowledge the truth of thy divine presence. Take possession of all that is mine, that in all things I may be subject to thee, as thou art to thy Father. Impart to me some portion of thy humility and obedience; and let me live for no other end than to love

and to serve thee here, that thus I may reign with thee eternally.

SPIRITUAL COMMUNION. (Page 150.)

EJACULATORY PRAYER.- "O Jesus, thou lovest and art not loved, would that thou wert loved."

Prayer to Mary Immaculate. (Page 150.)

JESUS IN THE BLESSED SACRAMENT: THE LOVER OF US.

O JESUS, God of love! thou hast told us that "thy delight is to be with the children of men," (Prov. viii. 31,) and thou givest to us a proof of this thy love by abiding upon our altars, even though thou art there forgotten and despised; O fill my heart with an ardent love of thee, that I may seek no other comfort but in thy company! The time has been when I felt no satisfaction in thy presence, because I loved thee not; but if thou wilt be
