M.A. Fellow of Trinity College, and Lucasian Professor of Mathematics, has been unanimously elected Plumian Professor of Astronomy and Experimental Philosophy, in the room of the late Robert Woodhouse, Esq. M.A. F.R.S. Dr. Smith's annual prizes of 251. each, to the two best proficients in mathematics and natural philosophy among the commencing Bachelors of Arts, have been adjudged to Mr. Charles Perry, of Trinity College, and Mr. John Baily, of St. John's College, the first and second wranglers. The Norrisian prize is adjudged to the Rev. W. M. Mayers, of Catharine Hall; the subject-The proofs of a general Judgment to come, and the advantages of the knowledge revealed to mankind concerning it. The Rev. George Shepheard Porter, M. A. Fellow of Christ College on the foundation of Sir John Finch and Sir Thomas Baines, has been elected a Foundation Fellow of that Society. William Anthony Collins, Esq.
