HE Applaufe beftowed on the ROMAN HISTORY, written by Dr. GOLDSMITH, induced that Gentleman to complete his Plan, by writing a HISTORY OF GREECE.

The Work was printed off when the Republic of Letters was deprived of one of its brightest Ornaments. Since the Author's Deceafe, the Work has been perused by several of his learned Friends, who are of Opinion, that it has an equal Claim to that Approbation which the ROMAN HISTORY received from the Public.
