Quain (Richard, F.R.S.)-ON SOME DEFECTS IN
GENERAL EDUCATION. By RICHARD QUAIN, F. R.S.
Crown 8vo.
3s. 6d.

Having been charged by the College of Surgeons with the delivery of th Hunterian Oration for 1869, the Author has availed himself of the occasion to bring under notice some defects in the general education of the country, which, in his opinion, effect injuriously all classes of the people, and not least the members of his own profession. The earlier pages of the address contain a short notice of the genius and labours of John Hunter, but the subject of education will be found to occupy the larger part-from page twelve to the end. THE EXAMINER calls the work " an interesting addition to educational literature,"
