THEC

THE remarks with which the former volume of these Notes is prefaced, will be found, in the Editor's humble judgment, strictly applicable to the one now presented to the profession, and the public; and he, therefore, only begs leave to add, that, for the cases contained in the second part of this volume, the noble and learned judge, from whose manuscripts they are published, expresses himself indebted to the friendship of Mr. Dunning, afterwards Lord Ashburton.

To the same high patronage, under which the publication was undertaken, this additional collection is most respectfully offered; and the Editor hopes he may gratefully mention the kind encouragement he has received, in the progress of his work, from the Lord Chief Justice Abbott.

Lincoln's Inn, May 16th, 1825.
