Main character of the story is Pat Randolph. Pat recently graduated from Norbertine College. He was considering working with the Windy City Police Department as an intern in their detective bureau. BOOK REVIEW: The Case of Lori Larkin
Recently I got my hands on a mystery book written by Brian Foster. Pat Randolph is a recent college graduate. Due to glasses, he couldn't make a career in the
Air Force. So, Pat decided that since he couldn't follow his father's footsteps, he would follow the footsteps of his grand uncle. Pat did the internship with the Windy City Police Department.
Pat and Lori were best friends in the youth bowling league. Pat had feelings for Lori at that time. He even asked her for senior prom. A week before prom, Lori called Pat and told him she couldn't go to prom with him. Pat hasn't heard from her since then.
Now, when he is working on a real case, he was shocked to see the case of Lori Larkin assigned to him. Pat informed his superior that he knows the victim and the superior allowed him to work on the case until he gets emotionally attached to it. Will Pat be able to solve this case?
This is a riveting tale. Language used in the book is simple so I was able to follow the story easily. Narration is smooth and strong. Storyline is written nicely. Length of the book is 118 pages only, so one could finish it in two sittings. This is a wonderful mystery story that I have read. A book worth reading.

🔵 BOOK: The Case of Lori Larkin
🔵 AUTHOR: Brian Foster
🔵 My Review:
Brian Foster's The Case of Lori Larkin is a fantastic story. Protagonist of the story is Pat Randolph. His parents Bill and Alice are proud of their son. After graduating from college, Pat went ahead for the internship with the Windy City Police Department. Pat graduated from his internship training class in 1995. In Jan 1996, he was given his first assignment. Pat was shocked by the name on his case. It is the case of Lori Larkin, a girl who changed her mind about senior prom in high school. Lori disappeared then. Lori's mother Linda is a suspect in the disappearance of her daughter's case. When cops called Linda several times for the case enquiry, all those calls went to the answering machine and weren't returned. Lori's case is a cold one till now.
After getting his first assignment, Pat did some exercise to identify how Lori's case came to him. Pat talked to his superior Detective Wiseman who appreciated Pat's honesty for telling him that he knows the victim. Pat wants Lori's family to have some closure. Also, he hopes maybe Lori and he are destined to be together once he solves the case. Pace of the story is perfect. It didn't feel rushed or slow. The details with which the author has described everything is fantastic. Characters are well written. I really loved Pat's character. It would be amazing to watch a movie based on this story. If you like reading stories with mystery, then go ahead with this one without any second thoughts.
