as others; and if once it came to that, Does your Lordship know them fo little? Can you be fo unacquainted with their Zeal and Polity, as not to forefee, that it would not be long before they would fet up new Fences exclufive of us? With all Honour and Refpe&t to the happy Reformation I speak it; the Preachers, who firft began it, argu'd moft convincingly; the Martyrs fuffer'd gloriously; but the defirable Work was not completed, till the Earthly Rulers, being themselves converted, eftablish'd and confirm'd it by Temporal Sanctions. I am prevented, by a very neceffary Avocation, from offering fome other Matters to your Lordship's Confideration, and particularly from comparing your present Doctrines with what you have formerly taught. But I fhall ftay to offer your Lordship one Piece of Advice; that in the next Impreffion of your Sermon, you would not suffer your Bookfeller to expofe you, by ad vertifing vertifing your Reasonableness of Confor mity at the Back of it.
