(SUCCESSORS TO NEWBERY AND HARRIS,)
HIS little volume would have contained
the narrative of many other Castles
and their Heroes, had its Authoress not feared to make her subject wearisome, if too much extended, and so defeat her object, which is to interest, by her 'fireside tales,' young readers in historical reminiscences of old places.
She trusts that her book may not interest them the less, that it is all true, being strictly founded on authentic historical annals.
