No. 2: Books on Painting, Engraving, Xylography and the Modern Graphic Arts. The supplement enumerates my stock of Precious MSS. illuminated with Miniatures. Nearly 1500 items. No. 3: Galleries, High Class Illustrated Works and Illustrated Books of Travels. No. 4: Industrial Arts. A most exhaustive list, this being the strongest branch of my stock. No. 5: Choice Copper-Plates, Etchings, Wood-Engravings and Drawings of Virtue. No. 6: Portraits. No. 7: Costumes of all countries and ages. No. 8: Archaeology, the Fine Arts of the Greeks and Romans; with a Supplement: Oriental Fine Arts. Although I have only been established for eight years, my strenous efforts towards fair dealing, coupled with an experience extending over more than a quarter of a century have secured to me the confidence of Leading Librarians and Bookbuyers all over the world. To justify this confidence and to meet the increasing scarcity of good old Books absorbed by the rapidly growing number of Libraries and Amateurs, I pay regular annual visits to the great European bookmarkets, bringing before the Public by my numerous catalogues what I have gathered. I have made it a rule to distribute my catalogues freely and I have no reason to regret having done so. To satisfy the increasing demand for them I shall henceforth print a greater number of copies. Several important Libraries have lately applied to me for a complete set of my catalogues, but I cannot comply with this flattering command, not having a single copy of all my catalogues save the one for my own daily reference. It seems to me that in the every day's work I have overlooked the possibility that my catalogues might become a most desirable object to great libraries. If some of my customers could spare any previous lists they would greatly oblige by sending them and thus enabling me to comply with the demands for sets of my catalogues.
