Buckingham, by G. C. his friend, 1685;-Considerations moving to a Toleration and liberty of Conscience, occasioned by Buckingham's excellent discourse on the subject of Religion, 1685, in 1 vol. 4to. neat, 10s 6d

1685

This witty and eccentric Nobleman, whose mingled character rendered him at once the ornament and disgrace, the envy and ridicule of the Court he lived in, wrote a great number of books which are chiefly poetical. His treatise on Religion passed through three editions, the first of which he vindicated "in a ludicrous and very good answer, called "the Duke of Buckingham his Grace's letter," &c. This letter has been thought so curious as to be printed in the Somers' Collection of Tracts.-See Reed's Bing. Dramatica, Walpole's Noble Authors, &c.
