U. S. and ROYAL MAIL STEAMERS

TO AND FROM

QUEENSTOWN AND LIVERPOOL.

The steamers of this line take the lane routes recommended by Lieut. Maury, U. S. N., going south of the Banks on the passage to Queenstown all the year round.

THE CABIN ACCOMMODATIONS

are situated amidships, where the least motion is felt, and where passengers are less subject to sea-sickness. The State Rooms are models of elegance and luxury, being provided with Electric Bells, running water, and every comfort attainable on an ocean steamer.

THE SALOONS

are large and spacious, forming a grand hall 75 feet long by 45 feet wide, extending across the full width of the vessel, and lighted not only by ample skylights, but by large windows on both sides. A broad staircase, well lighted by night and day, leads to the saloon, where there is ample room for dining two hundred persons, giving to each diner his or her own seat, not of undefined capacity on a sofa or settee, but a chair with revolving seat, which is kept at every meal for the passenger to whom it is allotted at the commencement of the voyage, and can be approached at any time during the progress of the meals without disturbing the others. Bath Rooms, Ladies' Boudoirs, Piano, Library, Smoking Rooms, Barber Shops, etc., can also be found on board.

THE VENTILATION

of the Saloons and State Rooms is perfect, as will be attested by the thousands of passengers who have crossed by the White Star Steamers.

E. TOURJÉE,

MUSIC HALL, BOSTON, MASS.

From "Physician's Pocket Manual and Year Book."

Dr. Tourjée, Director of the New England Conservatory of Music, has solved the problem of how to derive the most pleasure and profit from a tour abroad with the least expenditure of money. Three years ago he planned a new way of seeing the wonders of the Old World, and what have now become famous as the Tourjée Excursions are such as every intelligent person will heartily indorse.

All travel is invariably first-class, and the hotels and the thousand and one provisions made are perfectly luxurious, with no drawback. A noticeable advantage is, that ladies, without male escorts, may travel abroad in the party without the slightest fear. No objectionable person is allowed to join the Excursion, and only those are received whose references are unquestionable.

The cost to each excursionist varies from $175 to $700, and these figures include first-class transportation, hotel accommodations, carriage drives, lunches, and incidentals.

We heartily indorse these pleasant trips, and believe that they merit the appreciation of the medical profession.

In the previous excursions quite a number of Eastern medical men participated, and several will have gone over the ground again the present year.

The advantages which they offer for recuperation, both to physicians and patients, are unsurpassed, and we hope that many a year will have passed before they shall be discontinued. The old way of seeing the Old World has always had many draw backs; the new way affords thrice the benefit for less than one half the expenditure made necessary in the former.
