The last seven leaves, containing the Latin letter addressed by Lascaris to Pietro de Medicis, who fled from Florence when the French entered Tuscany, are only to be found in the very few copies which had been distributed before that event took place. It was then completely suppressed. The Sunderland copy fetched £51.

A fine, large and clean copy of this scarce translation, which was evidently never seen by Brunet. He gives the title incorrectly and the translator's name as Le Plessis, which may have been the case, but the book itself gives no hint of it beyond the initials.
