Both these treatises on the cultivation of Artificial Memory are very rare. The Costabili copy of the work of Leporeus brought 100 frs. Chappusius' work and name are not mentioned by bibliographers. It is a more pretentious literary performance, and less practical and technical than the former.

LOGUS DEDICAVIT;" in a morocco case, £150. Viennae Pannoniae, 1529

This is evidently the copy struck off for presentation to the King of Bohemia, to whom it is dedicated. The King's Arms are emblazoned on the title. It contains 74 11. Signs. A-O in sixes and fours. The title, the verses by Gaspar Ursinus Velius on back of title, and some dedicatory lines on Ei and Ii, are printed in letters of gold; and the last leaf contains the Arms of G. Logus emblazoned, with four Latin lines beneath.

Georg von Logau was a respectable member of King Ferdinand's Council, and highly esteemed as a Latin poet by his contemporaries.
