Let him Jay his commands on thee, O thou curfed and damned fpirit, who fuffered, died, and was buried for the falvation of mankind; who overcame thee, and all thy might; and rifing again afcended into heaven, from whence he is to come to judge the living and the dead, and the world by fire.

Here the Bishop or Prieft makes the fign of the crofs on the fore-head of the perfon to be reconciled, faying:

Receive the fign of the crofs and of Chriftianity, which having formerly received, you did noť keep, but being unhappily deceived, you did deny. When the person to be reconciled is led into the

church, the Bijhop or Prieft fays:

Enter again the church of God, from which you have imprudently frayed; and gratefully give thanks for having escaped the fnares of death. Abhor all idolatry, reject all heretical [or heathenifh, or Jewish] fuperftition. Worship God the Fa ther almighty, and Jefus Christ his Son, and the holy Ghoft, one living and true God, an holy and undivided Trinity.
