T that time Jefus faid to his difciples: When you fhall hear of wars and feditions, be not terrified these things must first come to pass, but the end cometh not as yet immediately. LESSON. Wifd. v. 16.

HE righteous fhall live for evermore: and their reward is with the Lord, and the care of them with the Moft High. Therefore shall they receive a kingdom of glory, and a crown of beauty at the hand of the Lord: for with his right hand will he cover them, and with his holy arm will he defend them. His zeal will take it's armour, and he will arm the creation to take revenge on his enemies. He wiH put on justice for a breast-plate, and he will take true judgment instead of an helmet : he will take equity for an invincible shield. i

GOSPEL. Luke vi. 17, 23.

T that time: Jefus going down from the mountain, ftood in the plain, as alfo the company of his disciples, and a very great multitude of the people from all Judea and Jerufalem, and the fea-coaft both of Tyre and Sidon, who were come to hear him, and be cured of their difeafes. And they that were troubled with unclean fpirits, were healed. And all the multitude fought to touch him, for there came forth from him a virtue, which healed all. And he, lifting up his eyes towards his difciples, faid: Bleffed are you poor, for your's is the kingdom of God. Bleffed are you that hunger now, for you fhall be filled. Bleffed are you that weep now, for

you fhall laugh. Bleffed fhall you be, when men fhall hate you, and when they fhall feparate you, and shall reproach you, and caft out your name as evil, on account of the son of man. Be glad in that day, and rejoice; for behold your reward is great in heaven."
