He all his foes shall quell, With pure seraphic joy: Lift up your hearts, lift up your voice, Rejoice in glorious hope, We soon shall hear th' archangel's voice, 162. Address to the Lamb. To our Redeemer's glorious name, 0 O may his love (immortal flame!) His love, what mortal thought can reach ? In wonder dies away. Let wonder still with love unite, Be Jesus our supreme delight, Jesus, who left his throne on high, Dear Lord, while we adoring pay 0 may the sweet, the blissful theme, Fill ev'ry heart and tongue, 'Till all shall love thy charming name, And join the sacred song. 164. Praise to Christ. YE servants of God, Your Master proclaim; And publish abroad His wonderful name; His kingdom is glorious, God ruleth on high, To Jesus our King. Salvation to God, 1 Who sits on the throne; Let all cry aloud, And honour the Son: Our Jesus's praises The angels proclaim, Fall down on their faces, And worship the Lamb. Then let us adore, And give him his right; All glory and pow'r, And wisdom and might; All honour and blessing, With angels above; And thanks never ceasing, And infinite love. 165. Praise to Jesus. TH' extent of Jesu's love The first-born seraphs try Yet cannot trace it out; for why? The curse they never bore. The grace unsearchable, Who, who, in earth or heav'n, can tell, And saints redeeming love admire, To Christ we lift our voice, 166. Praise for Redemption. WHAT shall we render unto thee, Thou glorious Lord of life and pow'r? Teach us to bow the humble knee; Our Jesus from the heav'ns came down, He bore our sins upon the tree (To seek and save the lost he came,) There was he bound, to set us free From death and everlasting shame; The captive flock from hell was freed And ransom'd when their Shepherd bled. Before the Father's awful throne Our merciful high priest he stands, And interceding for his own, The purchas'd remnant now demands; May we, his banish'd ones, rejoice, And cleave to him in love alone; Then meet him in the realms of bliss. |
