SOME ACCOUNT OF THE MISSIONARY OPERATIONS OF The Church of England IN CONNEXION WITH THE SOCIETY FOR THE PROPAGATION OF THE GOSPEL IN FOREIGN PARTS. 66 THE EARTH SHALL BE FULL OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE LORD AS THE WATERS COVER THE SEA." LONDON: GRIFFITH AND FARRAN, CORNER OF ST. PAUL'S CHURCHYARD, 1865. 133.9. 36. The following pages have been written in the hope of partly supplying the want which has been so much felt, of a short and popular account of our Colonies, and of the work which the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel has been enabled to carry on in them during the hundred and sixty-four years of its existence. A little book of this kind can possess few claims to originality; it is chiefly compiled from the Reports and other publications of the Society, and from the pages of the Colonial Church Chronicle. The Map and Illustrations, sixteen in number, which adorn the volume, have been most kindly lent by the Society. |
