This splendid, useful and most interesting work fully deserves the

commendations lavished upon it, while still in progress, at the Exposition at Paris, in 1855, by the International Jury on the subject of Printing. In awarding the Medal of the First-Class to the proprietor and printer of this work, M. Hangard-Maugé, they observed, "his plates executed in chromolithography surpass in delicacy all that have appeared up to the present day."
