The Granville Collection of Handel Manuscripts (the property of Captain Bernard Granville).

[This collection was originally formed by Bernard Granville (1709-1775), of Calwich, great-grandson of Sir Bevil Grenville, the Royalist leader, and brother of Mrs. Delany, the correspondent of Swift and patroness of Fanny Burney. He was for many years an intimate friend of Handel. The collection, which has remained in the family ever since, was first described in detail by Mr. R. A. Streatfield, in the "Musical Antiquary," July, 1911. The catalogue gives a detailed account of the various lots.—ED.]
