No enterprise since the voyages of Captain Cook excited a greater share of public interest than that of Captain Tuckey to explore the River Congo, and by tracing it to the northward, to attempt the solution of that great geographical problem, the termination of the Niger, the greatest discovery that remains to be made in modern geography.
