Each of the above gentlemen received a prize, but only through the handkerchief having slipped from off two other gentlemen, who had else been doubtless first. Both these gentlemen won their heats; and Mr. Nunn, from whom feats of strength may be justly expected, deserves great praise, both for his speed and the manner in which he gained this prize, which were all that could be wished. An excellent event, as although Mr. Norman showed fine running and great judgment, Mr. Harding's running was very good, and plucky in the extreme; and when he received his second prize for this race, the spectators manifested their feelings by giving him round after round of applause. This gentleman won this easily; and the prize that he received is but little reward for all the pains and trouble he has taken as Treasurer to the United Hospitals' Athletic Club. Indeed, to him and to Mr. G. A. Norman, the Secretary to the Club, whose office though honorary is by no means a sinecure, every member of the Club owes his best thanks. The swimming races-about the most useful accomplishment, and one of the best fitted for such a humane profession as is the medical of the United Hospitals' Athletic Club come off on the 1st July. We hope they will have many entries and will be well contested.
