THE ORIGINAL NUMBERS OF "THE SPECTATOR” [ADDISON, JOSEPH.] The Spectator, Non Sumum. To be continued every day, Thursday, March 1, 1711 (to Saturday, December 6, 1712). Folio preserved in a beautiful old calf binding. London: Printed by Sam Buckley, at the Dolphin in Little Britain and sold by A. Baldwin, in Warwick Lane. Numbers 1-555.
A COMPLETE SET OF THE ORIGINAL NUMBERS, containing the first editions of Addison's celebrated essays, besides contributions from Alexander Pope and Richard Steele. It is also highly valued for the theatrical advertisements which were never reprinted.
As it was published as a daily newspaper, complete collections are excessively rare.
