God who with all good provides us,

God who made, who saved, who guides us,

Hosanna to the incarnate Word,
To Christ, Creator, Saviour, King,
Let earth, let heaven, Hosanna

Hosanna, Lord, Hosanna in the highest!

O Saviour, with protecting care
Return to this Thy house of Prayer:

Where we Thy parting promise claim,
Assembled in Thy sacred name:

Hosanna, Lord, Hosanna in the highest!

But, chiefest, in our cleanséd breast,

Eternal, bid Thy Spirit rest,

And make our secret soul to be

A temple pure, and worthy Thee:

Hosanna, Lord, Hosanna in the highest!

So, in the last and dreadful day,
When earth and heaven shall melt away,
Thy flock, redeemed from sinful stain,
Shall swell the sound of praise again :

YE DO SHOW THE LORD'S DEATH UNTIL HE COME.

Y Christ redeemed, in Christ restored,
We keep the memory adored,

And show the death of our dear

Lord,

Until He come!

His body broken in our stead,
Is here, in this memorial bread;
And so our feeble love is fed,
Until He come!

His fearful drops of agony,

His life-blood shed for us we see;
The wine shall tell the mystery,
Until He come!

And thus that dark betrayal-night,
With the last Advent we unite;

The shame! the glory! by this Rite,
Until He come!

Until the trump of God be heard,
Until the ancient graves be stirred,
And with the great commanding word,
The Lord shall come!

O blessed Hope! with this elate
Let not our hearts be desolate,

But strong in faith, in patience wait,
Until He come!
