[This Blake MS. is unpublished, and as very few of his poems are known to be in existence in the original holograph, it has great value both because of rarity and literary interest. The only reference to it that can be found is in Gilchrist's Life, where, at page 349 of the first volume, Crabb Robinson writes of an interview with the author, in which he says: He showed me his version of Genesis, for so it may be called, as understood by a Christian visionary. He read a wild passage in a sort of Biblical style." What immediately follows explains why the poem was not published. There are about 200 lines in the poem, which is neatly written and with few changes. Illustration of first page in catalogue.]
