The permission granted to Lieutenant Colonel John Craigie, of the 41st Regiment Native Infantry, and Member of the Military Board, in General Orders No. 16, of the 18th January last, to proceed to Europe, is cancelled at the request of that Officer.

Major Edward Gwatkin, of the 13th Regt. N. 1, and Superintendent of the Haupper Stud. is permitted to be absent from his Station from the 20th May, to the 1st November next, on account of private affairs.

Captain C. T. Thomas, of the 15th Regiment N. 1., and SubAssistant Stud Department, is appointed to Oficiate for Major Gwatkin during his absence, or until further orders.

Captain Thomas Roberts, of the 51st Regt. N. 1., having been declared incapable of performing the active duties of his profession, is, at his own request, transferred to the Invalid

Establishment.

Captain C Fitzgerald of the 60th Regiment of N. I, command ing the escort of the Right Reverend the Lord Bishop of Cal cutta, has leave of absence, to visit Futtebgurh and Cawnpore, on private affairs, from the date on which His Lordship may dispense with his services, until the 15th of November next. The undermentioned officers has leave of absence:

Hospital Apprentice David Fleming, attached to the Artillery at Dum Dum, is directed to join and do duty at the General Hospital.

The period from the 21st September to the 80th of November 1885, for which Lieutenant Colonel D. Presgrave obtained leave of absence in General Orders of the 23d October last, having been occupied by the detention of that officer in winding up the concerns of the late Miut at Sangor, His Excellency the Commander in Chief is pleased to direct, that the subsequent leave granted in General Orders of the 4th December last, to Lieutenant Colonel Presgrave, for eight months, to visit the Presidency, on his private affairs, shall be considered as commencing on the 1st of December, and not as an extension" of the preceding leave.

The Dum Dum station order of the 221 instant, directing Assistant Surgeon A Bryce, M. D. of the 1st Toop 24 Brigade Horse Artillery, to afford medical aid to the 1st and 24 coinpanies of the 4th battalion artillery, and to the regimental band, as well as to the troop to which he stands posted, is con· firmed.

The leave of absence, for nine months, granted to Captain P. C. Anderson, 24 in command of the Mhair warrah local battalion in General Orders of the 8th ulimo. To visit the hils north of Devrab Dhoon, on medical certificate, is to commence from the 12th of February last, instead of the date therein specified.

The leave of absence, for six months, granted to Lieutenant and Adjutant F. W. Burroughs, of the 17 a regiment N I, in General Orders of the 21st of January last, to visit the Presi dency, on private affairs, is commuted to visit Futtehguib, from the 24 ustimo to the 7th instant, on the same account

Ensign Lowther Thomas Forrest is removed from the 41st to the 40th regiment of N 1. and will rank next below Eusiga C. E. Burton.
