When wilt thou, gracious Lord, restor Thy wandering church, to roam no m 2 Six thousand years are nearly past Since Adam from thy sight was cast; And ever since, his fallen race, From age to age are void of grace. 3 When will the happy trump proclaim The judgment of the martyr'd Lamb When shall the captive troops be free And keep the eternal Jubilee! 4 Hasten it, Lord, in every land,

Send thou thine angels and command "Go sound deliverance; loudly blow "Salvation to the saints below!" 5 We want to have the day appear! The promis'd great sabbatic year, When, far from grief, and sin, and 1 Israel in ceaseless peace shall dwell. 6 Till then, we will not let thee rest, Thou still shalt hear our strong reque And this our daily prayer shall be, Lord, sound the trump of Jubilee.

Gentiles Praying for Jews,
Rom. xi. 1, 2, 25, 26.

1 FATHER of faithful Abra'm, hear,
Our earnest suit for Abrá'ms seed
Justly they claim the softest prayer
From us adopted in their stead:
Who mercy thro' their fall obtain,
And Christ by their rejection gain.
2 Outcasts from thee, and scatter'd w
Thro' every nation under heaven,
Blaspheming whom they crucified,
Unsav'd, unpitied, unforgiv'n:
Branded like Cain, they bear their 1
horrid of men, and curs'd of Go

And turn each cursed idol out,
That dares to rival thee.

Do not I love thee from my soul?
Then let me nothing love;
Dead be my heart to every joy,
When Jesus cannot move.
8 Is not thy name melodious still
To mine attentive ear? 1

Doth not each pulse with pleasure bound
My Saviour's voice to hear?

4 [Hast thou a lamb in all thy flock,
I would disdain to feed?

Hast thou a foe, before whose face
I fear thy cause to plead?

5 Would not mine ardent spirit vie
With angel's round the throne,
To execute thy sacred will,

And make thy glory known.

6 Would not my heart pour forth its blood In honour of thy name?

And challenge the cold hand of death
To damp th' immortal flame?]

7 Thou know'st I love thee, dearest Lord, But, O! I long to soar

Far from the sphere of mortal joys,
And learn to love thee more.

Prayer for Ministers.

FATHER of mercies, bow thine ear,
Attentive to our earnest prayer;

We plead for those who plead for thee
Successful pleaders may they be!

2 How great their work, how vast their charge!

Do thou their anxious souls enlarge;
Their best acquirements are our gain,
We share the blessings they obtain:

1

3 Clothe then with energy divine
Their words, and let those words be thi
To them thy sacred truth reveal,
Suppress their fear, inflame their, zeal.
4 Teach them to sow the precious seed,
Teach them thy chosen flock to feed:
Teach them immortal souls to gain-
Souls that will well reward their pain.
5 Let thronging multitudes around,
Hear from their lips the joyful sound
In humble strains thy grace implore,
And feel thy new-creating power
Let sinners break their massy chains,
Distressed souls forget their pains;
Let light thro' distant realms be sprea
And Zion rear her drooping head.

Prayer for a Revival.

SAVIOUR, visit thy plantation,
Grant us Lord, a gracious rain;
All will come to desolation,
Unless thou return again:

Lord, revive us,

All our help must come from thee.
Keep no longer at a distance
Shine upon us from on high:
Lest, for want of thine assistance,
Every plant should droop and die:
Lord

3 Surely once thy garden flourish'd

Every part look'd gay and green; Then thy word our spirits nourish'd, Happy seasons we have seen! Lorc 4 But a drought has since succeeded, And a sad decline we see; Word, thy help is greatly needed, lp can only come from thee :

Lord

5 Where are those we counted leaders, Fill'd with zeal and love, and truth? Old professors, tall as cedars,

Bright examples to our youth!

Lord, &c.

6 Some in whom we once delighted,
We shall meet no more below,
Some, alas! we fear are blighted,
Scarce a single leaf they show :

Lord, &c.

7 Younger plants-the sight how pleasant,
Cover'd thick with blossoms stood;
But they cause us grief at present,
Frosts have nipp'd them in the bud!
Lord, &c.

8 Dearest Saviour, hasten hither,
Thou canst make them bloom again;
Oh, permit them not to wither,
Let not all our hopes be vain: Lord, &c
9 Let our mutual love be fervent,
Make us prevalent in prayers;
Let each one esteem'd thy servant,
Shun the world's bewitching snares:

Lord, &c.

10 Break the tempter's fatal power,
Turn the stony heart to flesh;
And begin from this good hour,
To revive thy work afresh:

Lord, revive us,

All our help must come from thee. 428. 8.7.4.

Longing for the spread of the Gospel. 1 O'ER the gloomy hills of darkness, Look, my soul, be still and gaze, All the promises do travail

With a glorious day of grace: Blessed Jub'lee,

Let thy glorious morning dawn.

The compleating of the spiritual Temple, Zech. iv. 7.

1 SING to the Lord above, Who deigns on earth to raise A temple to his love,

A monument of praise:

Ye saints around, thro' all its frame, Harmonious sound the builder's name. Beneath his eye and care

The edifice shall rise

Majestic, strong and fair,

And shine above the skies:

There shall he place the polish'd stone Ordain'd the work of grace to crown. COLLECTIONS FOR POOR CHUR ES AND POOR BRETHREN.

432. 8.7. B. Francis.

At a Collection for Poor Ministers. 1 PRAISE the Saviour, all ye nations, Praise him, all ye hosts above; Shout, with joyful acclamations, His divine victorious love : Be his kingdom now promoted,

Let the earth her monarch know; Be my all to him devoted,

To my Lord my all I owe.

2 See how beauteous on the mountains Are their feet, whose grand desig Is to guide us to the fountains,

That o'erflow with bliss divine,-
Who proclaim the joyful tidings
Of salvation all around,-
Disregard the world's deridings,
And in works of love abound.
With my substance I will honor

y Redeemer and my Lord;
