At the September, 1897, Term of said Court, to wit: On the 8th day of January, 1898, the Hon. Wm. W. Keysor, one of the judges, being present, and presiding in said Court, the following proceedings were had in the matter of the death of the Hon. William B. Sterling, as appears of record on Folio 20, Journal 56, of said Court.

In the matter of the death of the Hon. William B. Sterling:

IN THE DISTRICT

COURT OF DOUGLAS COUNTY, NEBRASKA.

Order.

Now, on this 3d day of January, 1898, came M. L. Learned, H. C. Brome, Geo. C. Bowman, Lee S. Estelle and I. R. Andrews, members of the Committee heretofore appointed for the purpose of preparing and submitting suitable resolutions respecting the death of Hon. William B. Sterling, and submits the same in words following, to wit:

To the Honorable District Court of Douglas County:

Your Committee appointed for the purpose of preparing and submitting suitable resolutions respecting the death of Hon. William B. Sterling, late a member

of this Bar, respectively report and recommend the adoption of the following preamble and resolutions, viz. :

WHEREAS, William B. Sterling died at his home in the City of Omaha, on the 15th day of October, 1897.

AND, WHEREAS, It is fitting that the respect and esteem with which this Court and Bar held the deceased should be made a matter of record in this Court.

Therefore, be it Resolved: 1. That the death of Mr. Sterling has removed from us in the morning of life, one of the brightest members of our profession.

2. That we recall with mournful pride the fact that in our bereavement, the State has lost a valuable citizen and our community a member, whose courage and energy gave inspiration, and whose unfailing courtesy and genial temperament endeared him to all.

3. That as a part of this just tribute to the character and memory of our departed brother, we hereby tender to his family and friends our most sincere sympathy.

4. That these resolutions be permanently inscribed upon the records of the Court and a copy thereof, duly certified, be furnished the wife of the deceased.
