The Decameron is an enchanting work; it contains more good Tales of the gay and facetious kind than had then been produced by all other writers. Chaucer and Fontaine though they lived almost 300 years apart, are equally indebted to Boccaccio. He flourished in the middle of the XIVth Century.

This most extraordinary Catalogue is 5 inches thick; it consists of 23,208 articles, and is one of the most remarkable productions of the age. It contains an immense amount of information, and the books are remarkably well, and most correctly described. I would on no account part with it had I not two.
