how dreadful was thy name, 2 That he all who in him believe, Until the God-man Jesus came!
Might in thy family receive; We cannot love nor honor thee, His sacrifice so great, so dear, Unless the Son hath made us free. Thou all-sufficient didst declare. 3 O love, no human tongue can tell! 3 As children we are own'd by thee, O love divine, unsearchable ! Since Christ our Brother deign'd to be; The Father gave his only Son We feel thy kind, paternal heart For guilty sinners to atone.

Empty, poor, and void of thee, Which always sounds above;
Hungry, sick, and faint, and blind. And ever sing, with joyful hearts, 4 Thou on my neck didst fall, The wonders of his love!
Thy kiss forgave me all:

O Lord our God. 2 My griefs & cares to thee well known, My God, I cast on thee alone,
În thee is all my trust; Since thou dost govern, I'll be still, DRAW me, O Father, to the Son, Into thy hands resign my will,
That he may draw me unto thee; And thank thee prostrate in the dust,
Thy Spirit render me his own, 3 I confidently do believe,
And rule without control in me; Me, thy poor child, thou wilt not leave, Shed in my heart thy love abroad, For thou my Father art:
