Rakosh Das Begamudre has been actively engaged in teaching, research, development and consulting in electrical machinery, control of machines and extra high voltage power transmission for nearly five decades at universities in India, United States and Canada. He holds the B Sc (Engineering) degree from the Banaras Hindu University (BHU, India), the Masters degree from the Indian Institute of Science (Bangalore, India) and the Ph D degree from the Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania (USA). His training in large rotating machinery and transformer engineering was at the factories of Messrs HITACHI Ltd., in Japan. The author has held faculty positions at various reputed universities in India, Lehigh and the Royal Military College of Canada. He was also a Visiting Professor at IIT Kanpur, India.
