proclaim the forgiveness of those sins on earth (when humbly and heartily desired 26), which are already forgiven in heaven! Such a dispensation of comforting mercy forget we not, for it is a heavenly gift! yea, given "for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Ephes. iv.

Christ."

Can I conclude better than in holy David's words? "THOU hast forgiven the offence of Thy people, and covered all their sins. THOU hast taken away all Thy displeasure, and turned Thyself from Thy wrathful indignation. TURN US THEN,

O GOD OUR SAVIOUR, AND LET THINE Ps. lxxxv. ANGER CEASE FROM US!"

JUDE ver. 3.

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the Saints."

THESE words of St. Jude, Christian Brethren, are fitting ones for the matter we yet have in hand, which is, to complete our survey of Romish errors. For one or two points have still to be referred to, although hinted at, and even mentioned, in what has previously been said. The words, moreover, of "Jude,
