"This fine edition of Suetonius, which exceeds any of the former, is adorned with a vast number of beautiful cuts, which not only illustrate Suetonius's history, but likewise give a great light to the Roman antiquities. The same antiquities are also further explained by Pitiscus's learned perpetual commentary on Suetonius, and extracts from nearly 900 ancient and modern authors, which he has collected for that purpose. At the end, in order to render the work more useful, three large Indexes are inserted."-Bibl. on

This very rare early edition of Tacitus, which in type closely resembles the press of Jenson, is supposed to have been produced at Milan about the year 1475. Brotier had a high opinion of its rarity and intrinsic value, observing, "summum debet esse apud literarum amatores hujus editionis pretium quam minor librorum rariorum indagatoribus fuisse incognitum."
