T the parliament begun and holden at Westminster, the first day of December, Anno Dom. 1741, in the fifteenth year of the reign of our fovereign Lord George the Second, by the grace of God, of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, King, defender of the faith, &c. And from thence continued by feveral prorogations to the eighteenth day of November, 1746, being the fixth feffion of this prefent parliament.

An alt for the further continuing an act made in the last feffion of parliament, intituled, An act to impower his Majefty to secure and detain fuch perfons as his Majesty shall fufpect are conspiring against his perfon and government. EX P.

W that part of this kingdom called Scotland, by divers of his Majefly's fubjects, encouraged by his enemies abroad, in order to fet a popish pretender upon the throne, to the utter deftruction of the proteftant religion, and the laws and liberties of this free conftitution, an act paffed in the last feffion of parliament, intituled, An act to im- 19 Geo. 2. c.1. power his Majefty to fecure and detain fuch perfons as his Majefty fhall fufpect are confpiring against his person and government; and the faid act is thereby declared to continue until the nineteenth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty fix: and whereas one other at paffed in the fame fef- 19Geo.2.c.17. fion of parliament, intituled, An act for continuing an act of this prefent fellion of parliament, intituled, An act to impower his Majefty to fecure and detain fuch perfons as bis Majefty fhall fufpect are confpiring against his perfon and government; whereby it was enacted, That the faid first mentioned act, and all and every the clauses, provifoes, powers, and authorities therein contained, should continue and remain in full force and vigour, from and after the faid nineteenth day of April, for and until the twentieth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty fix, and VOL.
