22. So Mofes brought Ifrael from the Red-fea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur and they went three days in the wilderness and found no water.

23. And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.

But we have no fufficient reafon to credit this: When 'tis faid, He appointed them (as the Hebrew word imports) a Statute, &c. thofe words feem to refer to that monition which follows (v. 26.) which is fo comprehenfive, as, if obeyed, would difpose them to obey all God's Laws.

The ARGUMENT.

The Ifraelites come to Sin. They murmur for want of Bread. They are promifed Bread from Heaven. Quails are fent, and Manna. Rules to be obferved concerning the Manna. It was not to be found on the Sabbath day. A Pot of Manna is referved as a Memorial. The Ifraelites are to eat of this Bread forty Years.

5. And it shall come to pass, that on the fixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in, and much as they gather daily.

6. And Mofes and Aaron faid unto all the children of Ifrael, At even, then ye shall know that the LORD bath brought you out from the land of Egypt.
