19. And Mofes faid, Let no man leave of it till the morning.

20. Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Mofes, but fome of them left of it untill the morning, and it bred worms and ftank: And Mofes was wroth with them.

21. And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the fun waxed hot, it melted.

22. And it came to pass that on the fixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Mofes.

23. And be faid unto them, This is that which the LORD hath faid, To morrow is the rest of the holy fabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake, to day, and feeth that ye will feeth; and that which remaineth over, lay up for you to be kept untill the morning.

24. And they laid it up till the morning, as Mofes bade and it did not ftink, neither was there any worm therein.

25. And Mofes faid, Eat that to day; for to day is a fabbath unto the LORD: to day ye shall not find it in the field,

26. Six days ye shall gather it, but on the feventh day which is the fabbath, in it there jhall be none.

27. And it came to pass, that there went out fome of the people on the feventh day for to gather, and they found

none.

28. And the LORD faid unto Mofes, How long re fufe ye to keep my commandments and my laws.

29. See, for that the LORD hath given you the fabbath, there fore he giveth you on the fixth day the bread of two days: abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the feventh day.

33. And Mofes faid unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to be kept for your generations.

34. As the LORD commanded Mofes, fo Aaron laid it up before the Teftimony, to be kept.

35. And the children of Ifrael did eat manna forty years, untill they came to a land inhabited: they did eat manna, untill they came unto the borders of the land of Ca

naan.

contained of our Measure very near a Bufhel, three Seahs [Vid. LXXII. and Onkel.] and the Omer here is the tenth part. The Homer which is mentioned, Ezek. 45. 11. is not the fame meafure with the Omer here, and is other wife written in the Hebrew.

CHA P. XVII.

The ARGUMENT.

The Ifraelites come to Rephidim. They murmur for want of Water. God fends them Water out of a Rock, Amalek fights against the Ifraelites. Jofhua encounters them. Mofes goes up to the top of an Hill, and holds up his Hands. Whiles he did fo the Ifraelites prevail against Amalek. God threatens Amalek. An Altar built. JEHOVAH-niffi.

6. Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb, and thou shalt fmite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Mofes did fo in the fight of the elders of Ifrael.

7. And he called the name of the place, Maffah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Ifrael, and because they tempted the LORD, faying, Is the LORD among us, or not?
