"This rare work derives additional intereft from the noble traveller having been the Farmane Duke' who is so curioufly noticed in the Merry Wives of Windfor.' This fact was first commented upon by Mr. Knight, and obfervations upon it, with more copious extracts from the prefent work, will be found in Mr. Halliwell's edition, vol. 2. It contains a woodcut portrait of the Duke, engraved map of his travels, and feveral folding sheets. The accounts of Windsor, Oxford, c. are extremely interesting and curious."
