The first portion is divided into four parts and consists of Ordinances and Articles of Inquiry in old French which probably date from about 1340 to the latter end of that century The fifth part is a treatise on Procedure. The Latin Articles De Officio Admiralitatis," translated by Rowghton, form the sixth division. The seventh division contains various official documents connected with the admiralty of the Earl of Huntingdon and extend over a period of three years from May, 1443. The three remaining divisions contain The Statutes and Ordinaunces to be keped in time of werre,' "Wager of Battel," and "De Materia

Supposed to have been compiled in the reign of Edword I. It contains some old Admiralty statutes of the reigns of Richard I., John and Edward I., regulations concerning the office of Lord High Admiral, etc.
