"Glory ye in his holy name : let "he heart of them rejoice that seek the Loπ D, 1 Chron. xvi. 10. Αnd say Je, Save us, Ο God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise, 35. Τhou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them : and thou shalt rejoice in the LonD, and shalt glory in the Ηoly Οne of Israel, Isa. xli, 16. Ιn the LoRD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory, xlv. 25. Αnd thou shalt swear, Τhe Lon D liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory, Jer. iv. 2. Βut he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord, 2 Cor. χ. 17. Βut God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, Gal. vi. 14.

5 Ιt is expedient for you that I go .. away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you, but if. Ι depart, I will send him unto you. Αnd when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Οf sin, because they believe not on me ; Οf righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Οf judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say untoΕ but ye cannot bear them now. owbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth : for he shall

not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shallhear, that shall he speak : and he will shew you things to come. Ηe shall glorify me : for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you, John xvi. 8-14. For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath hot wrought by πme, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed, Τhrough mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, Rom. xv. 18, 19. For our Gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Ηoly Ghost, and in much assurance, as ye know what manner of πmen we were among you for your sake, 1 Τhess. i. 5. Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the Gospel unto you with the Ηoly Ghost sent down ά, heaven ; which things the angels desire to look into, 1 Ρet. i. 12.

VΕR. 13. "Α και λαλούμεν ουκ εν διδακτοις ανθρωπίνης σοφίας λόγοις, αλλ' εν διδακτους πνεύματος αγίου, πνευματικούς πνευματικά συγκρίνοντες, ΚWhich things also ιρe speak, " not in the uords uhich man's urisdom teacheth, 5 but which the Ηoly Ghost teacheth, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. * See on chap. i. ver. 17. clause 1. b See on Μatt. xx. ver. 20. • Ηaving then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith, Rom. xii. 6. VΕR. 14. Ψυχικός δε άνθρωπος ου δέχεται τα του Πνεύματος του Θεού μωρία γάρ αυτώ εστι, και ου δύναται γνώναι, ότι πνευματικώς ανακρίνεται. " Βut the natural man b receiueth not the things of the Spirit of God : for they are foolishness unto him : " neither can he kιιοιυ them, because they are spiritually discerned. * Τhese be they who separate themselves, sensual, having notthe Spirit, Jude 19. "Τhen Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Βe it far from thee, Lord : this shall not be unto thee. Βut he turned, and said unto Ρeter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me : for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men, Μatt. xvi. 22, 25. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Εxcepta man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Νicodemus saith unto him, Ηow can a man be born when he is old 2 can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born: John iii. 3, 4. Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came Ι of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech 3 ευen because ye cannot hear my word, viii. 42, 43. For they that are after the fiesh do mind the things of the fiesh , bat they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death , but to be spirtually minded

is life and peace. Βecause the carnal πmind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God, Rom. viii. 5-8. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness , but υπto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, Ι will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise : where is the scribe: where is the disputer of this world hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world 2 1 Cor. i. 18-20. "See on John vi.ver. 45. clause 1, 2,

" Αll things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you, John xv. 15. I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world, xvii. 6. For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me, and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they bave believed that thou didst send me, 8. Βut I certify you, brethren, that the Gospel which was preached of me is not after man. Εphesus. Τhis man was instructed in the way of the Lord, and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. Αnd he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Αquila and Ρriscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto bim the way of God more perfectly, Αcts xviii. 24-26. • Βut by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which uras bestoured upon me was not in vain ; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not Ι, but the grace of God which was with me, 1 Cor.xv. 10. Εxcept the Lon D build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LonD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow, from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater; So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shallaccomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the Ε whereto I sent it, Ιsa.
