thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him : thejudgment was set, and the books were opened, Dan. vii. 9, 10. Βut a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shalldevour the adversaries, Ηeb. x. 27. For our God is a consuming fire, xii. 29. Βut the heavens and the earth which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men, 2 Pet. iii. 7. Βut the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also, and the works that are therein, shall be burnt up, 10. Αnd Ι looked, and there was none to help , and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own armbroughtsalvationuntome, and my fury, it upheld me, Αnd I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and Ι will bring down their strength to the earth, xliii. 4-6. wilt thou be angry for ever: shall thy Jealousy burn like fire ! Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name, Ιxxix. 5, 6. When the boughs thereof are withered, they shall be broken off: the women come, and set them on fire, for it is a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them will shew them no favour, Isa. xxvii. 11.
