The author of these interesting and amusing volumes has pushed his discoveries beyond the utmost point to which any preceding traveller had extended his search in the bleak, but not inhospitable region of the North. When he describes countries which have been already described by others, he not unfrequently corrects the mistakes of his predecessors, and thereby renders an accept. able service to the public.
