An unusual specimen of binding of the second half of the 18th
century; silk, upon which is most exquisitely painted in rich colours
(undoubtedly by a native Japanese artist) the figure of a Jap seated at
the foot of a tree (on front cover), and a Japanese lady standing (on
back cover), preserved in its original shagreen case.
