T that time Jefus fpoke to his difciples this parable: The kingdom of heaven fhall be like to ten virgins, who, taking their lamps, went out to meet the bridegroom and the bride. Now five of them were foolish, and five were wife. But the five foolish, having taken their lamps, took no oil with them: but the wife ones took oil in their veffels with their lamps. And while the bridegroom tarried, they all flumbered and flept. And at midnight there was a cry made: Behold the bridegroom cometh, go ye forth to meet him. Then all thofe virgins arofe, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish ones faid to the wife ones: Give us of your oil, for our lamps are gone out. The wife ones anfwered, faying: Left there be not enough for us and for you, go you rather to them that fell, and buy for yourfelves. Now while they went to buy, the bridegroom came: and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage, and the door was fhut. But at last come alfo the other virgins, faying: Lord, Lord, open to us.

But he anfwering, faid: Amen, I fay to you, I know you not. Watch ye therefore, becaufe you know not the day nor the hour.

T that time: Jefus fpake to bis difciples this parable: The kingdom of heaven is like a treafure hidden in a field: which when a man hath found, he hideth it again, and for joy thereof goeth, and felleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. Again the kingdom of heaven is like to a merchant feeking good pearls: who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went his way, and fold all that he had, and bought it. Again the kingdom of heaven is like to a net caft into the fea, and gathering together all kinds of fishes. Which, when it was filled, they drew out, and fitting by the shore, they chofe out the good into veffels, but the bad they çaft away. So fhall it be at the end of the world. The Angels fhall go out, and fhall separate the wicked from among the righteous: and they fhall caft them into a furnace of fire: there fhall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Have you underftood all these things They fay to him: Yea. He faid unto them: Therefore every scribe inftructed in the kingdom of God, is like the mafter of the family, who bringeth forth out of his treasure new things and old.
