Situated about 15 miles from La Hogue on the Coast of France. Was attacked by the French on May 7th, 1798, with Gun Brigs and Flatts carrying 6 to 7,000 men. He obliged them to retreat with great loss, one of the boats being taken and 7 or 8 sunk full of troops.
