Under the above title it is proposed to publish a series of small Volumes descriptive of the principal Countries of the World, each country being treated of by a writer who from personal knowledge is qualified to speak with authority on the subject.

The general aim of the Series will be to present a clear and accurate idea of the actual state of the different countries, in a sufficiently popular form to prove interesting to the general reader, waile at the same time it is intended that the works should be useful for educational purposes.

The Volumes will average 180 crown octavo pages, and will contain Maps and a few typical Illustrations. The price of the Volumes will be 3s. 6d. each
